GUFWAN FELICITATES WITH HARUNA TSAFE AS THE NEW PRESIDENT OF THE DEAF ASSOCIATION, CONGRATULATES NNAD FOR A SUCCESSFUL ELECTIONS

NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES PRESS RELEASE GUFWAN FELICITATES WITH HARUNA TSAFE AS THE NEW PRESIDENT OF THE DEAF ASSOCIATION, CONGRATULATES NNAD FOR A SUCCESSFUL ELECTIONS Chief Ayuba Gufwan, the Executive Secretary, National Commission for Persons with Disabilities has identified with the emergence of HARUNA Mohammed TSAFE as the newly elected President of the National Association of the Deaf in a keenly contested elections held in Ogun State recently. The ES while fielding questions by the Newsmen during his recent visit to UBEC headquarters recently in Abuja, stated that Mr Tsafe's victory is a clear indication of the hunger for strategic focus and a renewed hope amongst the Deaf community in Nigeria. He further stated that every Nigerian irrespective of his station should endeavour to be focused and plan strategically along the tenets of the Federal Government's Renewed Hope Agenda which is hinged around the three core pillars of growing the Economy, pulling 100M Nigerians out of poverty and creating an enabling environment for all Nigerians to thrive. Gufwan, also pledged his support as he promised that the Commission will continue to work with the Deaf community and every cluster of persons with disabilities in Nigeria in order to build a formidable inclusive society. "Persons with disabilities in Nigeria have gained the societal recognitions which I believe is our responsibility to holistically guide and protect and to see that we are well situated. "It is high time our appointments and election victories went beyond disability clusters, we must aspire to be Ministers, Governors, Senators in Nigeria" he said. However, Haruna Mohammed TSAFE is also the Technical Assistant to the Executive Secretary, National Commission for Persons with Disabilities.
